Institutional Research Consultants, Ltd. (IRC) is a private family-owned evaluation research services firm managed by Dr. Jan Upton, the Founder and President. The company was originally incorporated as the Institutional Research Corporation in Raleigh, North Carolina in 2000. Dr. Upton relocated to Powell, Ohio in January 2002 and began operations as a sole proprietor with the new name of Institutional Research Consultants. On August 1, 2008, Dr. Upton changed the business structure to a Limited Liability Company, and IRC changed from a sole owner to a partnership on November 1, 2012. IRC has developed a system of cost efficiently addressing clients’ needs through partnering with other small consulting firms and individual consultants. IRC maintains a two million dollar general liability coverage policy.
